Animated Series:

In the animated series, Omnicons, once Autobots and Decepticons, united with Team Rodimus and abandoned their longstanding conflict to journey away from Cybertron. Joining forces, the Omnicons cooperatively mined energon, a vital energy-rich mineral essential for powering Transformers and their technology. Their distinctive ability to handle, shape, and process raw energon, a capability harmful to regular Transformers, allowed the Omnicons to construct Cybertron cities in their unique way. Despite three distinct body types within the Omnicon ranks, each individual Omnicon possessed an independent mind, setting them apart from the unified consciousness of the Terrorcons.

Dreamwave Productions:

In the Transformers: Energon comics by Dreamwave Productions, the Omnicons had a different origin. Unlike the animated series, where they were numerous, the Omnicons in the comics were four young Autobots trained by the Mini-Con Over-Run. Considered the next stage in Transformer evolution, these four Omnicons were sent to Earth by Optimus Prime. However, their inexperience strained relations with Earth governments, leading Prime to assign them to Hot Shot for training. Despite Hot Shot’s efforts, the Omnicons only followed one command – Prime’s frustrated “get lost!” This led them to the Canadian wilderness, where they were ambushed by Snow Cat, aiming to exploit their energon manipulation for Scorponok. Only by learning to function as a team did they escape and ultimately defeat Snow Cat.
